New Maps Subject description: Pack'd |
|
Mirrors suggested that we have a few more maps, and I happened to have downloaded a whole bunch of fun ones. From now on I'll be keeping my eye out for worthwhile maps and upload .rar files containing them.
For right now, here's the first pack and the maps it contains.
http://rapidshare.com/files/403945432/servermaps.rar.html
1. rp_cscdesert_v2-1_night: a night version of cscdesert with a custom skybox, so I packed the files for that too.
2. rp_beta_ctraining_fi_03: this map is on steel films and it's very similar to the FNG level in Call of duty 4. It has shooting ranges, courses, and some fun turrets like a heavy machine gun and missile launcher and even a flame thrower.
3. rp_cargtown_b7: Basically a small town with a rock wall surrounding it, it has an operable crane in a junkyard and some buildings, roads, bridges, normal rp stuff.
4. rp_christmastown: a small snowy town with a christmas tree in the center along with stores, houses, and an admin mansion. Note that I am not 100% sure it will work in hl2dm.
5. tdm_omahabeach_beta3: this map is awesome, it's obviously based on the D-day invasion of WW2. Players will either spawn in the landing boats or in the MG42 nests ahead.
I hope these are useful!

You should specifically ensure that all of the maps work on HL2DM to save everyone else the hassle of having to prepare them only to discover that they don't.

Unfortunately I found out that cscdesert_night and christmastown will crash. Omaha works fine and all the others I've seen hosted on other servers.

I've played cscdesert_night and christmastown on HL2:DM before.

cscdesert has a knack for crashing everything from what i remember and generally being a pretty iffy map (on top of being horrible for deathmatching).

It's important that you specifically test the versions in the package yourself. Seeing the map on another server doesn't mean that the version in the package will work; the only way to determine whether or not it works is to try that version yourself.

The rp_beta_ctraining_fi_03 map crashes when someone gets on the AR2 turret.

Iraq: Give me a list of people and I'll tell you where their cars are. |

Have any of these maps been added yet? I tested cargtown and beta training and they both work. As presidente said, the AR2 turret and the sniper turret both crash when used but perhaps there's a way to delete them the same way the nuke got deleted?
